Some days ago, Google announced that they are teaming up with Intel to deliver Google Video to Intel's Viiv entertainment-system. It was already obvious that Google were going after video this year--but this is a huge step into the living-room. It would be interesting to see, how Intel's platform will eventually bring together players like Google and Apple (and if they can live up to the technological rapids involved). Oh, and BTW: DivX also jumped into the boat.

In einer Pressemitteilung vom 5.1. erklärt Google, daß sie mit Intel zusammenarbeiten werden, um Google Videos zur Entertainment-Plattform Viiv hinzuzufügen. Das Google in diesem Jahr etwas mit Videos machen wollen würden, war klar -- aber das ist wirklich einer großer Schritt ins Wohnzimmer. Interessant wäre es, wenn Intels Plattform Spieler wie Google und Apple zusammenbringen würde (und ob sie die entsprechenden technischen Stromschnellen umschiffen könnten). Oh, und übrigens: DivX ist auch mit im Boot.
