TLDs are not just fancy characters

While Bit.ly and Co. will not suffer from the current Libyan Internet-blackout (as Bit.ly CEO John Borthwick notes: "of the five root nameservers for the .ly TLD, two are based in Oregon, one is in the Netherlands and two are in Libya", Mashable), there already is a precedent that .ly-domains must comply with Islamic law.



TLDs sind nicht nur lustige Buchstaben

Während Bit.ly und Co sich wohl nicht vor dem momentanen Internet-Blackout in Lybien fürchten zu brauchen (wie Bit.ly CEO John Borthwick erklärt: "of the five root nameservers for the .ly TLD, two are based in Oregon, one is in the Netherlands and two are in Libya", Mashable), gibt es bereits ein Beispiel dafür, daß sich .ly-Domains Islamischem Recht beugen müssen.
